DONT COMPROMISE.

In the dynamic world of business, change is inevitable. As the marketplace evolves, so should your strategic plan (you do have one don’t you?)

Adapting to change is crucial for staying ahead of the competition and ensuring long-term success. However, it's important to remember that business principles should never be compromised for short-term gains. If you’ve built a reputation you can firmly stand on, don’t leap off just yet. By staying true to our values and maintaining a strong connection with our customers, we can build a strong customer base that will reciprocate the same level of loyalty and trust back towards the business.

There are also a ton of other benefits to being well known and trusted in your marketplace. In fact, here’s one little secret that we’ve found.

Businesses with the strongest brand identity often spend as much as double the marketing budget of their competition. However, 10% more of their leads came from consumers searching the exact business name, i.e. “Dave’s Landscaping” compared to “landscapers near me” So when the time came to select a company, in this example the landscaper, the consumer knew the name of the company they wanted to hire. When the customer thinks ______ we want them to think of you/your business. That’s why it’s so important to find our place in the market and not just compete. DOMINATE. If you like competition join the bowling team. When it comes to your industry, be dominant.

Online presence is equally important to reputation. Online reputation is an entire topic on it’s own. We’ll come back to that in the future.

One of the biggest roadblocks to business growth is the unwavering attachment to old beliefs and a overall lack of imagination. Stagnation can be detrimental to business success, so it's crucial not to fall into this trap and instead embrace new ideas and innovative strategies. This is why we hire people to do the things we’re not good at, even though our ego often tells us nobody can do it but me.

This is also why people in general tend to dig their heels in when they find something that works, as long as it’s comfortable. If something works but isn’t as comfortable, we tend to discontinue when life/business gets in the way. Think exercising and eating healthy.

The Tusk Group slogan is “purpose driven results" but it’s more than just a catch phrase.

What this means in practical application is the highest percentage of actions taken and decision making is done with as many facts as we can gather guided by past experience and future expectations.

Since we’re not robots, we’re regular people, emotions are always present, but when we have the knowledge and understanding of the facts, our emotions can be better used to celebrate our successes instead of making decisions.
